Froxfield
Parker Knoll 'Froxfield' Side Chair - Model 749-1014
£795
Constructed in 1985 and originally covered in it’s dusty pink velour, I’ve chosen a vibrant new look for this extremely comfortable little chair, using one of the fabulous Sanderson Morris & Co/Ben Pentreath Cornubia collection fabrics. Solid beech frame fully restored. Back upright and inside arms rebuilt, and new padded seat to match original design. Seat contains original Parker Knoll-patented spring system, with a barrier pad in place in order to protect the seat cushion from any wear from the springs.
Fabric: Covered in Sanderson Morris & Co ‘Woodland Weeds’ in Orange/Turquoise 53% linen, 35% cotton, 12% nylon. Depicting ‘millefluers' or many different small flowers and plants, Woodland Weeds is one of Ben's favourite designs. Often shown on a green ground as though growing in grass the pattern is attributed to John Henry Dearle. First printed in 1905 this archive document is unusually symmetrical and perpendicular for a Morris & Co. design.
